The AED Foundation of Ontario was pleased to attend the 2026 Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference in Toronto, held from January 18 to 20, 2026.
ROMA provided an important opportunity to connect with municipal leaders from across the province and engage in meaningful conversations about community safety, emergency preparedness, and the role of automated external defibrillators in helping save lives.
Throughout the conference, AEDFO had the opportunity to listen to the priorities and perspectives of Ontario communities and discuss practical ways to strengthen local cardiac emergency preparedness. These conversations focused on the importance of AED awareness, device readiness, public access, and ensuring lifesaving resources are available when they are needed most.
AEDFO also shared how the provincial AED registry can support communities by improving the visibility of AED locations and helping strengthen emergency response when cardiac emergencies occur. When AEDs are registered, communities are better positioned to support faster action during the critical moments before emergency services arrive.
We are grateful for the opportunity to connect directly with municipal leaders at ROMA 2026 and to continue building partnerships that support safer, more prepared communities across Ontario.
AEDFO looks forward to continuing this important work with municipalities and community partners across the province, helping ensure that when every second counts, more people have access to the lifesaving support they need.
