AED Foundation Ontario Joins the Ontario Campus at Toronto’s FIFA Fan Fest

AED Foundation of Ontario was proud to attend the Ontario Pitch at the Ontario Campus during Toronto’s FIFA Fan Fest, joining fans and community members in celebrating Canada’s performance on the world stage while helping raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and the importance of AED access.

Throughout the event, our team had the opportunity to connect with attendees, answer questions, and educate the public on how Automated External Defibrillators are used during a cardiac emergency. For many people, an AED can feel intimidating at first, but these devices are designed to be simple, safe, and easy to use — even for someone with no medical background.

Events like FIFA Fan Fest are an important reminder that cardiac arrest can happen anywhere people gather, including sports events, fan zones, workplaces, schools, community centres, and public spaces. When someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest, every second matters. Calling 911, starting CPR, and using the nearest AED can help save a life.

AED Foundation of Ontario also shared information about Ontario’s upcoming provincial AED registry. Once in place, registered AEDs will be visible to 911 dispatchers, helping them direct bystanders to the nearest AED during a cardiac emergency.
