AED Foundation Ontario was pleased to attend the 2025 Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference in Ottawa, where municipal leaders, elected officials, and organizations from across the province came together to discuss the issues shaping Ontario communities.

The annual AMO Conference is an important opportunity to connect with municipal decision-makers and strengthen conversations around public safety, emergency response, and community preparedness. This year’s conference brought together thousands of participants from hundreds of municipalities and organizations across Ontario.

As Ontario’s official AED Registrar, AED Foundation Ontario attended to raise awareness of the Ontario AED 911 Registry and the vital role municipalities can play in helping ensure publicly accessible automated external defibrillators are registered and locatable in an emergency.

Throughout the conference, AED Foundation Ontario had the opportunity to meet with municipal leaders and share how the registry supports safer, more prepared communities across Ontario. These conversations emphasized the importance of collaboration between municipalities, emergency services, community organizations, and AED owners in improving access to lifesaving devices.

Municipalities are key partners in building public awareness and encouraging local AED registration. From arenas and community centres to libraries, municipal offices, parks, and public facilities, many AEDs are already placed in spaces where people gather every day. Ensuring these devices are registered is an important step in strengthening local emergency response.

AED Foundation Ontario is grateful for the opportunity to attend AMO 2025 and connect with leaders who are committed to the safety and well-being of their communities. We look forward to continuing this important work with municipalities across the province as we help build a safer Ontario where every second counts.
